Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum.
In my previous cars, depressing the clutch would deactivate the cruise control when it was set.
Did you guys know, the Civic is able to let you shift through gears while it's in cruise control?
For example, I was driving down the freeway at 70MPH, in cruise in 5th. The car approached an incline and 5th gear struggled, so I depressed the clutch (at this moment the car did not deactivate the cruise nor did it rev itself in between gears), tapped the gas pedal to rev match and clutched in and shifted to 4th.
I've tested it with and without rev matching by means of double clutching. Shifting up or down works flawlessly. Even without the throttle blips if I rev match, the engine cuts power until the next gear is fully engaged. If you don't rev match and shift down, just let the clutch out slowly. The car will readjust to it's set cruise speed.
Nifty feature to help the car haul up hills or further limit speeds down hill.
For clarification, I drive a Civic LX with the 6MT.
