Coupe Shark Fin Removal?

Roof wrap stopped at failure to remove the shark fin. Anyone able to find a connector on the coupe for the wires? We went down to the air bag panel and didn't go farther. There are other posts about the fin removal, but only one the Sedan and hatchback.

It's there... You just didn't go far enough.

Unfortunately it's behind the side curtain airbag. Does anyone know how to get behind it without setting it off?

Sorry for gravedigging, but was anyone able to get this stupid thing off? I really want to wrap my roof, but the antenna is ruining everything, and I really don’t feel like shelling out hundreds of dollars for somebody else to do something I can get done in an hour or two (after getting the damn antenna off). Thanks.

I keep wanting to drop by the dealership and asking them to unhook it... I haven't yet. My roof wrap was cancelled as well when I couldn't get it removed.

Man, Japanese cars usually have better engineering solutions that this. I can’t think of a single valid reason to do what they did here. When I got underneath the liner and saw the square piece of plastic, I thought for sure there would be a connector there...but nooo...it’s all the way under the C pillar...

This isn't a Japanese problem. I'd say 90% of the "shark fins" I've had to remove or get to the connectors on have be 2+ feet from the actual antenna. The Germans, the Swedes, they're all the same.

Should be the same idea. I have a coupe myself and I did see the video at one point but I don't have a link.
