I'm running 225/40 on my 18s
What do these numbers mean exactly? Before I got my civic I was a sheep that just listened to what the people at the tire shops were trying to sell. Does it have to do with the width or something?

It's referencing the dimensions of the tire. So his would be P225/40R18.

"P" means it's a US Passenger tire
225 is the width
40 is the aspect ratio, the ratio of the height of the tire's cross-section to its width
R means it's a radial tire
18 is the diameter of the wheel the tire fits (18" wheels).

kinda off topic but does anyone know if you need to transfer or get new TMPS for the aftermarket wheels? have a 16 LX-P if anyone wants to know. I've read that the TPMS is indirect, just need to make sure.

No TPMS transfer or purchase because the sensor is not in the air valve, as you said it is an indirect sensor that measures and compares the spin of the wheels. I need to reset the calibration process 2 or 3 times, but after that it works like with the factory wheels.

16s? dont you think thats a bit too small/weird looking. Im waiting until spring, im ordering myself 18s. either 18x8 or 18x7.5 Enkei all the way though. Check out EDR9, TS10, RPF1, i wish EV5 made them in black.
