Happy Friday, folks!
Here's a quick tutorial for turning a Mishimoto intake into a proper CAI.
Parts needed:
Hose clamps - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQDRFVH/
Aluminum tubing - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FAVUD7Y
3" to 2.5" Reducer coupling, 90 degree elbow - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TGPG4RI/
3" to 3" 90 degree elbow - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GXJI5X6/
3" inlet air filter - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GU5J5B4/
Start off by removing the Mishimoto filter and airbox.
Next you'll have to fab up some sort of bracket to hold things in place. I ended up some parts from the stock airbox.
Attach the reducer elbow to the MAF housing, then measure how much tubing you'll need to reach down to where the filter will go.
Cut the tubing, clean the edges. Cut another, shorter bit of the tube for the bit the air filter will attach to, clean the edges. Turn your wheel all the way to the right, so you have enough room to work. Remove the three Phillips screws along the forward edge of the inside fender, the three 10mm bolts on the air dam thing, and the other 10mm bolt that's close to the outside edge of the car. When you're looking under there, you'll know what I'm talking about. Also, pop out the two clips by the air dam thing.
At this point you can pull the fender liner out, and finagle the filter in there. I had the smaller tube already connected to the filter when I did this.
Then just connect the rest of the tubing and you're done. Put the fender stuff back in place, don't forget.
I've cut holes in the driver's side fake vent to match the ones on the passenger side; here you can see through them to see where the filter ends up.
Easy-breezy.
