Hey everyone. Just a quick question....I hope. I bought one of those horn upgrades with the adapter from College Hills. I got it all in and it is WAY weaker than the stock horn. Did I miss something or did I get a bad horn?

"Weaker' is too subjective. Can you post a video?

The factory horn is very midrange-y. The others, to my ear, have a darker (or less bright) tone.

I think that the Wolo page has audio examples. That or maybe Fiamm. But you can compare the sounds to what you hear with your new one.

Just used the high & low tone horns from a 18 Accord, seems pretty loud to me, parts cost for the two was around $35.00, could have used a set of Hellas with same results. Dealer installed, took about an hour.

I have the dual set kit on my Si and it is much louder than stock. Kit came with a high and a low tone horn. I'm assuming yours just came with a single tone horn?

Not plug and play unfortunately.
I have seen harnesses that plug into the civic wiring but not sure where.

CHH sells an adapter that breaks out the two contacts into 2 separate wire lugs. I bought one, attached two new wires to both of the adapter's wires (4 wires total), and was able to swap out the OEM meeper for a pair of PIAAs. I used a length of heat shrink tubing to give the adapter's wires a little more support.

Do you by chance have some pictures on this? I want to swap to a pair of PIAA too, just trying to understand your setup

See if I understand it right:
From OEM plug to CHH PLUG, 2 wires came out, go straight to one of the horns, then use the picture 2 connector to split 2 other wires to the second horn

So what does the CHH adapter included? Just OE to 2 wires? Or does it also includes those in picture 2?

Here's the way I did it. I drew the two wires with different colors just for clarity. I don't believe that the adapter harness indicates which is which. And so long as you wire the two horns similarly; I don't believe that it matters.

I used a bracket for my LX that allowed me to bolt the horns together and then mount them to the chassis using the original bolt.

You can solder, crimp, or wire tie the electrical together. You just need to create a 'Y' type split off of each harness wire. And insulate the terminals and connections.

Should look like this, wires connected to both horns. CH adapter wires plug into the spade on one horn.

Got it, so to create the wires in picture 1 here, we'll need to get these connectors from hardware store right?

Thanks for the pictures:thumbsup:
