Anyone know how much a clutch install would roughly cost for an FK7 ? Clutch is starting to slip in 5th/6th. Just wanna know a ballpark estimate.

With cost of clutch, I would say between $950-$1100

The average cost for a Honda Civic clutch replacement is between $1149 and $1492. Labor costs are estimated between $642 and $866 while parts are priced between $507 and $626. Estimate does not include taxes and fee, and Dealer's obscene markups.

More if you want to have an upgraded clutch -- which you probably do, as you blew out the OEM one .

Definitely won’t be taking it to the dealer but thanks. Those estimates sound about right.

Shouldn't be doing anything to cause slip in 5th and 6th.....downshift for better acceleration
In 3rd and 4th there’s no slippage but when I’m just doing a WOT from 4th I notice slippage in 5/6

WOT in 4th? At what rpm are you shifting into 5th? Also WOT in 5th?

3rd should be good to over 80mph, 4th to 110, 5th to 140....not that I advocate driving like that. 11.8@117mph is the fastest 1.5t civic afaik so I suspect he is just using a bit of 5th unless he upgraded his gears (prl is selling updated 3, 4, 5).

I see what you’re saying. I guess in my situation I’ll be in 6th on the freeway and I’ll have to overtake someone so I’ll just keep it in 6th and just get on the throttle and The car will start getting up in speed but it’ll almost sound the car is overreving if that makes sense. I’ll definitely stop being lazy and downshift to overtake just for the sake of my clutch and transmission.

That’s bad for the engine as well as the clutch. This scenario is likely “lugging the engine”, a good way to damage it. Your clutch slipping is actually doing you a favor here.

Driving normally I don’t feel any kind of slippage. Do you think it’s too early to think about a clutch replacement ?

Yes. I think your problem is the loose nut behind the wheel

Just depends on how far you are going to mod the car.
