Hey everyone, so Hyundai has started to sell the second gen Veloster Turbo with an updated chassis based off the current gen Elantra that is said to handle much better than before. What do you all think of it as a competitor to the Civic Si?

Am I seeing this right? There's no manual option for it and still no LSD?

Edit: Turbo Ultimate has the 6MT

Watch the following video. It should answer some of your questions. I considered purchasing the Veloster Turbo, but I found out that it also has rev hang :banghead:

Ah yes I've seen that video. It was alright but a superficial comparison that didn't cover both cars completely I felt. I wanted to see what people here think about this new supposed Si competitor.

I wonder if it's still based off the Hyundai accent :dunno:

I also wonder if the fuel meliage is really that much worse than the SI, and if so, why.

The Veloster has always looked like a chick car to me. And its a hatchback... No thanks.

Nah, the Civic is more androgynous to me.
I probably feel that way about the Veloster bc i worked with a girl that couldnt wait to get one when they were new. She was in love with it and it totally turned me off of them, lol.

the civic (coupe) is very aggressive and manly (JDM manly) looking.

the veloster isnt chick carish per se, like say... the scion tc, last gen celica or dodge neon was, but it does give off a slight feminine vibe.

but more than anything it is ugly. performance wise it is very similar to the si, but slightly at a disadvantage with no LSD.

the best 2 cars to compare to one another is the current si and elantra sport/veloster because their numbers are so close to each other.

gonna have to disagree with you on this. In all my years I've never once heard that.
