I just bought a 2018 Si in Lunar Silver from a local dealer here in Ct. I paid 23,000 for the car ( inc destination fee ), then on top was the dealer fee of 499 and the sales tax on the difference between the selling price and my trade in.

I did not price shop to any other dealer because I was happy with the trade in value they offered for my 2013 Mini Cooper S ( they offered 1k above KBB as they felt they could put it on their lot and sell it, which I'm sure they will as it's a super cool car and an easy sell to a younger guy who wants a fun manual car ). I also didn't shop it around because I wanted a quick and happy buying experience; playing the internet haggling game or going thru Costco would have netted a lower sales price I'm sure but I felt was balanced out by the very fair trade in allowance on my Mini.

1.9% 5 yr Honda financing. Came with wheel locks and 1 free oil change as an enticement to make them the servicer going forward. Also came with the "Lifetime Powertrain Warranty" which, to keep valid, requires extreme vigilance of service records as well as additional service work- not worth it to me.

No warranty purchased, but I do buy MBI from Geico which it Totally worth it. IMO.

$30,250 OTD...this is in Canada and the price includes $795 dealer fee and 5% tax. Also, wireless charging and led headlights come standard up here and I got block heater, mud flaps and spare tire kit included in the price. Picked up 3 weeks ago

First post and first-time Honda owner here: :imnew:
  1. 2018 Honda Civic Si Sedan - Modern Steel Metallic
  2. Base Price - $22,265.00
  3. Wheel Locks & Lifetime Nitrogen :what: - $499.00; Splash Guards - $153.00; Cargo Tray - $133.60
  4. NC Highway Use Tax - $711.00
  5. NC Tag, Title, and Registration - $89.00; Dealer Administrative Processing Fee - $649.00
  6. Hendrick Honda - Charlotte, NC
  7. Final Price OTD = $24,500.00
No other dealer in NC would match this price, much less beat it. I tried for weeks to negotiate lower, but in that time I missed out on two in Aegean Blue because they were selling like hotcakes from under me.

$499 for wheel locks, and air?
Actual value

Nitrogen = $4 value
Wheel locks = $56 retail ($35 online) value
Splash guards = $104 retail ($69 online) value
Cargo tray = $114 retail ($63 online) value
"Dealer administrative processing fee" (doc fee) = $0 value (North Caroline neither limits nor requires "doc fees", so this is just pure profit for the dealer as usual.)
TOTAL = $171

Dealer charge

Wheel locks and nitrogen = $499
Splash guard = $153
Cargo tray = $133
Doc fee = $649
TOTAL = $1,434

In this case, the buyer paid $1,434 for $171 worth of accessories. Another way to look at it is the buyer paid $23,528 ($1,447 off MSRP) + TTT&R + $171 in accessories.

I was pretty much at their mercy. I can only imagine what the two Aegean Blue buyers paid.

One dealer told me straight up, "The Si is a hot commodity. I'm not willing to match that price to lose money." Another dealer stopped returning my calls after I asked them to beat Hendrick's price.

Looks like I posted this in the wrong thread so here it is ...

Just bought a 2018 SI coupe in blue for $22,200 + $299.18 (dealer fees, title, etc) + $1,332 (sales tax) = $23,831.15 OTD. I'm in PA and the dealer didn't even have the car on the lot. He said he couldn't get in the $22k range without the car being on his lot so I told him I'd go to one that had it and after a good poker face and waving my credit card in hand for a deposit, he finally caved after some haggling lol. Took almost 1.5 weeks to get the car though. 77 miles on the odometer. Nearly all of it was the drive between dealerships.

Bought the 120k mile / 8 year Honda Care warranty from Hyannis Honda online (as recommended on this forum) for $1,050. My dealer didn't want to match it. There's so many electronics and screens on these new cars that I feel better with the "bumper to bumper" warranty for that many miles.

Very nice OTD. Did they charge Destination Fee in the 22,200? In VA, they are charging 875 plus 500 for processing.

This is what I was quoted by Umansky Honda of Charlottesville:
MSRP = 24, 990 (inc. 875 destination)
Discount = 1,600
Adjusted price = 23,390
Taxable fees = 59.72
Processing fee = 499
Tax = 993.87
Non tax fees = 65.75
Total (out-the-door) = 25,008.34

** No extra options or anything included. Probably need to buy far from VA to get good OTD. lol

Tell the salesman that you KNOW you can get the car for around 22k because a multitude of people across the nation are, as shown on this thread. Waive your CC and ask for $22,200 and they can take your deposit right now, or you'll go to a dealership that will. Good luck!

This is a good OTD price for VA. I'm in NoVA, and a buddy here got tired of waiting to get a CTR at MSRP, so he went with an Si. The dealers up here wouldn't go below MSRP nor offer a discount. He wound up paying around $26K OTD.
