whell.. i seem to have messed up a strut at the autox a week ago.
i didn't hit anything.. never hit a curb and our roads are not that bad.
turning left at full steam and it clunks and bottoms out with the stock tire size. strut bangs over hard bumps.
i have 75k kms on it 90% hiway. did it go early or is this normal wear?

dealer wants $750 for one strut plus more to install it. anywhere cheaper for stock stuff?
ctire gonna sell me crap?

I got to run my Si at the Oscoda Pro Solo in S4(GS) the car worked really good and it was a fun event.
Here are my best runs from each course.

DON'T go to Canadian Tire for any performance parts. (For the Americans -- it's a generic low-end auto parts store like O'Reilly or some such.)

Out of morbid curiosity, I went to the Canadian Tire website, and they don't have any suspension parts for the Si listed. But that's moot anyway, as you don't want to replace a single shock with a different model than the other three, especially since your stock shocks are electronically adjustable.

Your car's a 2018 -- have you checked to see if Honda will fix the strut under warranty?

Still enjoying the Si as a Street class autocross car. Doesn't feel like a stock car. Won a local event last Sunday on PAX managed to just fend off a quick STX BRZ by a mere tenth or so. I have one more event this year in it this Sunday before I make the jump back to STR.

I am enjoying mine also and doing pretty good. I also have a 17 ND for STR.

Welcome to racing! You don't get truly involved until you have to start replacing shit that you broke.

I'd really like to know what happened to yours, though. Maybe it was something that got unplugged?

@caspar21 you sure a bolt or nut somewhere didn't get loose? Try putting that corner in the air and jostle stuff around to see if you can pinpoint the looseness

tried that. honda did that too. they said they don't know what is wrong but i had my dash cam recording and heard them say it was the strut. they were pretty convinced but since it would not be covered they played dumb.

thanks for the input tho.
