The sound system in my Honda Civic Sport 2019 is definitely loud enough with great mid-high frequencies. However, there's absolutely no bass in the sound system.

How intrusive would the installation of a sub-woofer box be? I'm hoping someone here who's done this to a similar car could recommend a pre-built "subwoofer box + amp" that can be tuned to supplement the existing stock sound system. I want something that can handle even the low bass in rap/hip-hop easily.

Idk if they still make them but kicker and alpine used to have an all in one sub enclosure. It was the amp, sub and box all tuned and ready to go just had to plug it in

Lots of people on here have gotten what they wanted with under seat all in one units.

My mid bass response improved immensely after I sound dampened my doors and rear deck

What steps/where exactly did you sound dampen? I hate taking door panels off but might consider it. Wouldn't mind doing the rear deck or trunk.

The doors are easy to take off and reattatch. Did mat on the trim panel and door. Added gasket tape around replacement speakers and adapters. I also added foam surrounds. Everything has a much tighter fit and the door sounds even more solid. CAF has a great video on doing doors

Rear deck is a little bit of a pain to get into. There are more panels to remove and the airbag panels are tricky. I covered as much of the deck as I could with mat. I applied gasket tape and neoprene between the deck, the cover, and rear glass. It's held up for 8 months so far (that rattle was the worst). There are you tube videos for that as well

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to offer helpful suggestions to my original question. You guys are great.. and, this forum is a pleasure to collaborate on. I like both the speaker under the seat idea as well as door dampening. Happy New Year everyone.

I did a write up about my install back in July. Here are a couple of pictures. I've since replaced the sub with a 10" in a similar box. Sounds much better, and is removable if I need the cargo space. Sounds better than any underseat sub I've heard, but there is something about simple and unintrusive.
