A 10th gen 1.5t non si beats a 9th gen si all day in a straight line. Videos all over youtube proving it.

I love the 2.0 but i dont see it having a chance

yeah I agree ...

In Hondata's 9th Gen Si vs 10th Gen 1.5T 1/8 mile drag race, the 1.5T did the 1/8 mile in 10.037s @ 71.19mph while the Si did it in 10.266s @ 69.93mph. You can see the video here: .

bow gus. i'd bet a tuned 2.0 cvt could beat a 1.5 mt in the 1/8. all these contests from day one have only been to highlight the 1.5. no MT vs MT as there were none at the time. and i don't care which could beat me either. thinking a 1.5 cvt could beat my almighty si, this does not bother me.

IME with full bolt-ons (as in custom parts that I made myself + downpipe), ktuner, 250 lb weight reduction, and aero mods, I’ve been able to beat a stock Si and 7th gen V6 Accord, barely.

I think a 1.5T in any trim will walk a tuned 2.0 easily. The 1.5 cvt is surprising quick.

An interesting side note. All the dynos I've seen on a stock 1.5T (non-Si) kind of bear out the point that Honda seriously understated the power output. Many are around 190 at the wheels versus the advertised 174 at the crank. My gut says Honda understated to non-Si 1.5 as to not to step on the Si's toes so to speak. That output combined with the big torque curve means the 2.0 can't keep up.

My TSP tuned 1.5T/CVT is very quick.

No part of any of that is true. You've been spouting this nonsense for over a year now.

The 1.5T produces more power and torque at every part of the rev band than the 2.0. The 2.0 doesn't have usable power below 1k rpm, it is completely and totally gutless until the very end of the rev band and at maximum power it is still below what the 1.5T was doing for almost the entire rev band. The 1.5T will wreck a 2.0 from a start or from a roll 10 out of 10 times. If you ever beat a 1.5T it means it wasn't racing you.
That's the point I try to bring up when cool1rim says he's never had a 1.5T beat him. The 1.5T torque curve alone means a hugely better low end and there's much more hp on top then the 2.0.

I think his point is the CVT sucks but in reality it keeps you in the heart of the powerband if need be. Like Alex on Autos said in his review of the 10th gen Civic Touring sedan, the 6.6 second 0-60 time was consistent because of how a CVT works. A manual is surely more fun to drive but it takes perfect shifts to repeat your best time.
