1.5" gave the exhaust a different tone, not loud but I can hear it better with some teeny pop and crackle.Oh wow, what size pipe did you use? I generally see it done with like 1" or so.
@blksprthtchbck© This looks awesome, Can I have some context as to the purpose?

@FK7Hatch I have never seen this done, I look forward to some sound clips.allows some of the exhaust gas to bypass the mufflers.. suppose to make the exhaust have more character while still retaining tame
I'll try to take one soon been a little busySound Clips!
Yes, in a sense, because cutouts allow you to have both a muffled and fully open exhaust installed essentially at the same time. This mod is kind of an in-between.This would be even better with electronic exhaust cutouts put in place, no?
For a mod like this, the flow gains would be minimal. If you're worried about flow at that point, I'd go with a full muffler delete. If I ever decide to modify my original exhaust I might route the bypass pipes straight for better flow? ^^
I believe someone (either Hondata or Vit) had said the stock exhaust on the SI was not yet a limitation and any aftermarket exhaust would only offer weight savings and a change in tone. For a mod like this, the flow gains would be minimal. If you're worried about flow at that point, I'd go with a full muffler delete.
Been so busy but here you go...freshly uploaded on YouTubeI've been thinking of doing the same mod, any chance of sound clips for the exhaust?
