Who will be the first to do it?
I suppose only the front needs 18" wheels. I think you could fit 16" on the back...meaning you could make your winter setup a bit cheaper by going with mismatched wheels. Not a great idea, probably would handle like rubbish, but it's an explore-able option If you're trying to save $40 or have some 16/17's that you just don't want to part with...
Might be hard to find wheels from TireRack, but just pick them based on dimensions.
You won't be able to rotate back to front obviously...but front to back could happen.
I'm not 100% sure 16's will fit, I'm just thinking it's very possible.
