I've been talking to them too. They have the castings and flanges made up, they just need to get the jig ready.

If their success with the K24W engines is any indication, we should see gains in excess of 10 whp, and that just on the stock motor.

I'm excited !!
and It almost looks as if the r18 catless downpipe would work with the k20c2 engine based on pictures from site

A few months ago I actually considered buying an R18 downpipe and cutting and welding on the k20 flange from the cat, but the R18 pipe has a slightly different angle than ours, so it would end up being very intensive, plus I don't have the tools or know-how to weld 304 stainless to mild steel.

So thankfully it will be out soon.

welding ss to mild steel is pretty much the same with a flux or mig

All I have is a cheap 120V arc welder. Welding anything other than very thick mild steel produces crappy results, and I don't want to invest in mixed gas or something that draws more power because I would need to have a dedicated circuit wired into my house. It's cheaper for me to get a pro to do it. And only when I need it.

Any word on a catted downpipe? I want to stay emissions legal and not have to swap it out every time I go to get an inspection.

Yes mostly likely they will have one ... They made a catless and cat downpipe for the r18 engine and k24w engines

I figured they would, I know the ones they've made for past models have been highly praised.

How are hondas with mods like this? I know with subies, even just an intake - it's highly recommended to re-tune. A catless downpipe? They're basically guaranteed to explode without a tune lol.

The engine is very safe and the ECU cuts power pretty quickly when something is off. the ECU seems pretty adaptable as well

On the last gen they would get minimal gains and be safe with out a tune. With a tune it made a good bit more power.

I'm interested in using this to complete my exhaust setup but, as a Californian, I'm wondering how this will impact my emissions. Will having this installed cause me to fail SMOG? and does this part require getting my car tuned or does it just need to be installed??

The car is so new I am not sure if anyone knows yet if it HAS to be tuned, I am sure it will be recommended.

If you go catless if will not pass emission guaranteed. I have emission here and they did a visual check for the cat and electronic scan via OBD2 connector.
