A few months ago I actually considered buying an R18 downpipe and cutting and welding on the k20 flange from the cat, but the R18 pipe has a slightly different angle than ours, so it would end up being very intensive, plus I don't have the tools or know-how to weld 304 stainless to mild steel.I'm excited !!
and It almost looks as if the r18 catless downpipe would work with the k20c2 engine based on pictures from site
All I have is a cheap 120V arc welder. Welding anything other than very thick mild steel produces crappy results, and I don't want to invest in mixed gas or something that draws more power because I would need to have a dedicated circuit wired into my house. It's cheaper for me to get a pro to do it. And only when I need it.welding ss to mild steel is pretty much the same with a flux or mig
Yes mostly likely they will have one ... They made a catless and cat downpipe for the r18 engine and k24w enginesAny word on a catted downpipe? I want to stay emissions legal and not have to swap it out every time I go to get an inspection.
