Hondata just released the CARB version of the FlashPro for the Civic Type R. This is a great 50-state emissions legal option and will save you some money over the normal FlashPro. Still excellent power gains, but your tuning ability will be limited over the red (race) FlashPro.

What would be the difference from the race version? Are there limitations on the carb one?

There are limitations. You (the end user) can't change anything that will affect emissions (ignition, fuel etc) but the calibrations which are CARB approved have more boost etc. There are build in calibrations for 91 and 93 octane that are identical to the non CARB versions and so will make identical power. Open a CARB calibration and you will see.

CARB... LOL
Thank god I live in greatest state of them all...Texas!
A place where GUNS & GASOLINE will always be welcome!
CARB is the process to get EPA certification but It is a federal requirement under the clean air act, even in TX, that on road vehicles use the CARB version.

Technically, but...
CARB = California Air Resources Board

Might be a federal recommendation but doesn't not apply to Texas registration.

So this CARB version only has pre tuned calibrations? Can you custom tune with this flash pro?

You’ll want the Race version for custom tuning. CARB cals are not modifiable but you don’t have to flash back to factory when visiting the smog station 8 years down the road.

If I bought both versions (CARB and non-CARB), could I run the CARB calibration on the street, and then flash with the non-CARB for the track/dyno?
