"Rare, unmolested examples are now selling for about $25K, or coincidentally, about the cost of a new Tonic Yellow 2019 Civic Si coupe."

Should make a poll for which people would rather have for 25k.
Side note, I see plenty of 99 non-si civic coupes with factory spoilers, but the si didn't come with one? o_O

LOL @ 25k for a 99 Civic Si in 2019. My friend has one of those back in the day. Went to NYC for the auto show and his control arm snapped. Had to get it towed back to PA. Fun times.

Great comparison! I'd still take a pepsi blue EM1 in a heartbeat. Although I love my 10thgen

In this case, newer is definitely better. The cockpit, the styling, the turbo. It truly is no contest. Yes revving the b16 was fun, not fun enough to compensate for all the awesomeness of the 10th gen.

I was one of the lucky few back in the day to score an EBP Si. Put 209K on that car before I sold it for a third of what I paid. Loved the motor and trans. Didn't care for the stock suspension or seats. Great car, but the current Si is a much better balance... even though the 1.5 lacks the character of the B16.

I would consider paying $25k for a "new" condition AP1 S2K no question, though.

That really embodies all the things C&D valued in their review of the '99
