I scratched this piece the other day with a phone. I was wondering if I can buy this part? If so, am I able to take the type R badge off? It looks like it has two ribbets and it’ll be hard to come off?

I'm not sure. Taking off the trim, will probably cause more dents and scratches. The dent looks like it sandwich between multiple trims and getting that one piece off will take a lot of work for little return. Enjoy your new car.

Yes it can easily be replaced. Look at this thread where @ctrmofo took apart the center console to replace the shift boot. You can see that the R badge piece does come off pretty easily.

https://www.civicx.com/threads/ctr-matching-red-alcantara-shift-boot-install.23863/
the badge assembly is held in place by 2 phillips screws and a white clip from the bottom of the shifter assembly. it's not possible to take the badge assembly out from top.

the only challenge is the piano black part itself and the actual badge are connected by 2 permanent rivets.

when i had my badge assembly out, i had extra xpel ppf so filmed it up before reassembling.

Is it part #46? I was thinking to get the new part and wrap it with clear film. I got my front end clear bra so I can dodge some rock chips.
yes it's #46 in diagram, confirmed.

I wish we could replace the piano black parts with forged carbon. That stuff looks so nice in the AMGs!

That’s what I need to remove to replace the piano black piece. So is it possible to remove the rivets? Or those two pieces are permanently together? There’s no point to replace that piece if the badge doesn’t come off from the old one.

Drill out the old rivets. Put two new ones in.

what he said...only way to get them out. just don't damage the actual metal badge. don't know how you go about getting a replacement one.

New to the forum...anyone know of a company that sell a carbon overlay for piano black behind the manual shifter (as seen in the pic)? My apologies if this has been posted before.
