GS 450h, M35h, Panamera Hybrid, probably some diesels. Civic Type R is rated at 25mpg combined, not 27.

they really really underrated the mileage on the Type R. mine isn't even broken in yet (less than 2500 miles on it) and my combined is 29-31 mpg; mix of country rural roads occasional little bit of highway and occasional little bit of city. and i'm not babying it; i'm driving it normally; prob about 10 over the speed limit and occasional trip up to near redline in 2nd 3rd 4th gears. i'm positive if i was on a highway trip and set the cruise at 68 mph it would be getting 35 mpg easy. mine is bone bone stock other than 18 inch Volks and i always run 93 octane Shell gas. this car is SUPER efficient for being such a powerful decent sized car

it all depends on where you live and the amount of stop and go that happens during your drive.
It's almost impossible to obtain 30+ down here. Maybe if you only drive in very early morning or very late night you can get close to 30.
This is from my fuelly records lol. The best i've gotten was 24.6 and that was mainly all freeway driving on that tank.

I just got 25mpg on my last tank and I wasn't babying the car at all. It was right after break-in and I had at least 6-7 pulls up to red line in 3rd. I'm really impressed with the gas mileage.

I live in a area mostly 45-65 mph no stop and go at 6500 ft altitude , a drive to Denver and back got me 32 mpg, around the city I get 25-27mpg but can easily achieve 28mpg in the city with comfort , only mods full synthetic oil mobile one , k&n , e30 tune, rev hang disabled . Should be netting minimum 350hp wheels, 370tq. That’s with 4 gallons ethanol at 1.84 gal.

Rest 91 octane I have to pay 2.67 avg gal.
Never had one check engine light 4500 miles driven

Can’t imagine what 2021 type r with electric motors will bring us, only few years to go

I live in an area with very little traffic and I average 26. Sure I can get it to 30, but all it takes is 1 or 2 pulls and that's it. Also I can't seem to get the average back up after some spirited driving.

Personally it think id rather just buy a type r since you are talking about 7500.00 in parts and labor.

But let me elaborate my first post more .. How about a vehicle that gets 28 MPG combined 30-32MPG highway in comfort with a simple ECU tune that can achieve 358HP/378 Ft lb over stock. :)

A Golf R can also achieve that without breaking a sweat, an Audi S3, and as the person above me said even a GTI can. In fact, i'm probably forgetting more cars too but it certainly isn't exclusive to the Type R.

Lol, so many cars can achieve this the type r is a great car but isn’t something that amazing.
then you have my old Focus ST that just had a ford racing tune and I only averaged 24mpg. I've got 900 miles on the civic and it's already getting better gas mileage than the ST.
