Anyone have any issues with what appears to be a clip on a bumper letting loose? The driver's side front bumper on my Si, as far back as it goes, just under the headlight, is sticking out like 1/4 or 1/2 inch. It does not appear that anyone hit it or anything it just looks like a clip is loose or something.

Can anyone who has removed their bumper comment on how it's attached on the far outside corners? I'll take it to the dealership one of these days but if it's something I can just push in the correct direction to stick in back to a clip or something I'd rather do that... Uh, if that's possible can you tell me the direction to push?

Here's what I'm talking about... It'll press back into the proper spot but then pop right back out, it doesn't stay for any time.

Honestly, if it were me, I'd take it into the dealership. I had a similar issue on my 8th gen, and it ended up chipping away the paint from all the times I'd push it in and when it would come back out.

After just reading through the "Factory defects" thread it sounds like this is a relatively common problem that appears to not be as solvable as we'd like. I'll take it to the dealer one of these days...

If it makes you all feel any better, the 2006-2014 Ridgeline has this problem, too. I had an '07, '10, and '14 - the front bumpers on all three would pop out. If I pushed them back in, they'd just pop back out some time later. The bumper on my '17 Civic Si is like this on the driver's side. Honda needs to redesign their retention system and/or assemble them better.

Mine was similar but not as bad. After popping everything out and re-positioning the clips, the alignment improved but still off. Overall, the fit and panel gaps on the car are less than impressive. I know its a Civic and not an NSX but Honda needs to address this stuff. I think the best quality is still coming from Japan. I had a 1st gen Fit and an S2000. Cars at different ends of the price spectrum and both were equally flawless in their assembly.

I'll take it back in to the dealer but has anyone gotten frustrated and just riveted the POS back in place or soemthing?

This would drive my OCD crazy. Take it to the dealership. Worse thing that can do is say that they they can't do anything for you

The same thing happened with mine. The dealership wanted to send it to a body shop because they claimed to not have the tools to take the bumper off.

Root cause is the clips breaking on the headlight and fender brackets. It was $22 for both and included is a pic of the parts/numbers for the drivers side. Use good spudgers, a clip removal tool, and watch for the fog light assembly.

I haven't taken mine to the dealer yet, looks like SiX has the best info so far...
