It will continue until you get a different pad. I got the Hawk HPS pads and haven't squeaked since. I haven't noticed any drop in braking performance but I'm not tracking the car.

Does it ever go away? I find that I have much less break squeaking in wet weather...

No, you should be experiencing it more in cold weather vs warm. Reason being pads meant to operate at higher temps don’t do as well at lower temps. They squeak until heated up to their desired temp operating range.

I found mine gotten a bit better, it was really loud after you actually got the pads hot. This is probably the loudest OEM pads I've heard....

Lol. Mine squeaked like hell but have been better after about 1700 miles. I rarely hear them at around 2000 miles.

Yes, me too. The OEM pads were driving me insane; I am not a "Brembo purist." These Hawk HPS pads have been God sent, though they don't bite as hard as the OEM ones. Never had issues with their stopping power, though. Highly recommended if the noise bothers you.

It squeaks sometimes - usually likes to start in heavy traffic. It doesn't bother me a whole lot.

Usually it squeaks for me at LOWER speeds when I’m coming to a stop. Yeah it causes people to notice you but the car itself already does a good job of accomplishing that.

Yea, I've been driving it in the cold (in the Freezing temp in Denver) and it squeak when roll to a stop. was wondering if it normal. It does sometimes squeak while I'm reversing... even in higher temp like in the 80s.

Yes, I heard them a lot when I first got the car, but they have quieted down since. I am up around 3700 miles now and rarely hear them.

That's comforting to hear. I'm at just under 1800 miles and mine still screech. I try to do a little aggressive braking and that helps for a period but it's always returned.

I'm at 7k miles and they still squeak. Only at low speeds pretty much when stopping, and pretty much at least once a trip.

I'm not sure why this is an issue. All good performance oriented pads squeal a little and have some dust. Some more than others, but the Type R pads are pretty good in that they work for light tracking and the squeal isn't bad and the dust isn't terrible. You bought a performance car, don't put inferior pads in just because they are more quiet.

What I wonder is why many aren't bothered and some can't stand them. There seem to be two possibilities.

1. They need to be driven harder and for longer. Go to a mountain road and do some threshold braking. Get them hot.

2. Very minor (relatively quiet) squealing at low speeds doesn't bother me. Do the people who care about squealing expect them to be completely silent?
