Hooray! Can't wait to see it. Do you know roughly the price it will be?
No finalized pricing yet, but expect it to be comparable to our other BOVs.

I heard a special tune would be needed to run one of these as the OE is a recirculation valve and tuned as such???
We're working on making this as plug-and-play as possible.

c'mon guys, our civics are mass air recirculating systems. venting air to atmosphere will not be good for them, you will run rich. Vit said there is no way to tune for a VTA BOV. of course the company developing this isnt going to tell you that. and Im not bashing them either. There will obviously be many people who buy this because ricers gonna rice. But if you care about how your car actually runs, get an aftermarket recirc vale. They can make the cool noise too
Exactly ^^^^^^^^

Exactly ^^^^^^^^If people wanna buy it then let em.Then they'll realize that Vit was right.
Yep, boomba just replied to me in another thread saying they are looking at a full recirc and a 50/50 as well. This is good to hear.

We are putting a lot of extended testing into our piece to make sure it is going to be something that is safe to run. We are also toying with the idea of a full recirculation valve as well as a 50/50 valve. We're not rushing anything to market.

Just wanted to show you guys how weak and flimsy the stock BPV is. Made from rubber and plastic. Sure the exterior is metal, but get a look at the inside!

Yes we are!
I love our Vendors that come in here and update us and answer questions! So this is what you meant when you said you were "looking into" a 50/50 or full recirc as well as your current BOV

If I had to guess that rubber diaphragm was most likely designed to expand and retain a certain amount of pressure inside of the system, once the threshold was exceeded (probably pushing that spring past a mechanical limit) it would vent air back into the intake (releasing pressure and protecting the turbo turbine).

It wouldn't make sense to make that plastic tip out of titanium or carbon fiber, a spring's a spring (I mean unless it's made out of chinesium and didn't like, spring back after being compressed), and I can't imagine another material besides a rubber compound that would perform the same function. So please do make sure we understand what the function of each part is before dismissing it as simply being cheap and useless. Too often do we see aftermarket shops making parts with materials that are considered "better" on paper but end up being too brittle or more ductile than the OEM component it replaces, causing a premature or more catastrophic failure.

Still looking forward to whatever you guys come up with and hoping all that R&D produces a something great.
