It was totally worth the wait. The moment I saw pictures of this exhaust from Tokyo Auto Salon 2019, I had to have it. They changed the muffler design at the very end so they can fine tune the exhaust note. All I can say is this is my 3rd exhaust in 1 year of CTR ownership so I have a baseline comparison between HKS Legamax/stock Cat/RV6 FP, MXP Comp RS/stock Cat + RV6 Catted Downpipe/RV6 FP, and now this Blitz Nur-spec VSR/RV6 Catted Downpipe/RV6 FP.

    Review:
HKS Legamax: Smooth premium sound 70% deep tone, no rasp, kinda of quiet. Great for family with kids in the back seat. Not ear bleeding.

MXP Comp RS: Similar in design to Fujitsubo minus the mid-pipe resonator. With OEM Cat, Smoothish sound, base note closer to a racey exhaust, drone is a very bare minimum. With RV6 Catted Downpipe, full on track exhaust note, drone is at 20% stop light to stop light, highway is around 40%. (higher the percentage the more drony it is) Sounds very aggressive. Gives you more balls to your step-in on the throttle.

Blitz Nur-spec exhaust (RV6 catted downpipe): Slots right in between HKS and MXP in terms of loudness inside the cabinet. Externally it's louder than HKS and 15% quieter than MXP. Very premium exhaust note with a very deep basey tone that your chest pounds from hearing this outside of the car (I am not kidding). Drone is 10% stop light to stop light, highway is around 25%. (higher the percentage the more drony it is) Inside of the car it's subtle exhaust note closer to HKS Legamax feel. Very smooth in it's throttle on and off transitions.

yeah, at first it was a bit much with hks and rv6 setup, but I like it now.

curious how rv6 setup sounds with this blitz...I'll have to remember to watch the vid later after work.

i swear every exhaust sounds exactly the same (which is to be expected since its the same motor i guess) with just different levels of volume and drone inside lol.

really wish this engine sounded better.

Thank you for the honest review. This was one of the exhaust systems I had my eye on. Sadly, the drone removed it from the already very short list.

I suggest the HKS Hi-Power Spec-L for ZERO drone...thats what I run. It's pretty tame tho, prob swapping to Remus this year so I may have one for sale at some point haha. The Blitz looks amazing though and top quality, I always wanted one for when I had my Evos.

So this exhaust is slightly louder than HKS Legamax and has similar sound characteristic. The HKS does drone a little IMO. Driving around town, stop and go between 2000-3500 rpm, the exhaust is very boomy, especially during deceleration. On highway, there’s a constant humming noise as well. Even stock exhaust has this humming noise on highway. Maybe I’m just getting old LOL.

You're right about the stock exhaust. It does drone on the highway at around 3-3500 rpm. My old ass just can't stand it anymore. I've spent enough times in my previous Hondas that super loud exhausts haha.If they could bring back the Mugen twin loop or the Apex Word Sport for this car, I'd get them with a quickness.

How does the exhaust sound with stock everything else besides the blitz exhaust?

This is what I want to know.

Exhaust + stock car is what I'm interested in, car so much fun as it sits I may never turn it out.
