Has anyone else noticed this happening on their hatchback? It looks like the pieces that are chrome on the sedan have just been vinyl wrapped black...they are pushing up against areas where the weather stripping was not correctly seated and the edges are starting to peel up. This is happening on all 4 doors...

If you look at the last picture you can even see a bit of chrome shining through at the edge where the vinyl hasn't quite reached the edge.

The hatchbacks have the chrome window trim too so yes that is vinyl. Added on by the dealer perhaps? Shoddy work.

OP drives a Sport hatch, which comes from the factory with "black" trim (same with sport touring), or so we think....

Yep, the dealer I bought the car from basically refuses to do any warranty work that "should be done by a body shop" according to them. So now I have to find a dealer that does body repair too..

I brought this issue up along with a misaligned door, and a warped front grill area piece, and they just kinda told me "some are like that".

Some are like that? I would have had a field day when they gave me that line..

So if "some" are like that.. Then make mine like the others are like..

Never accept that a certain thing is the way it is because some are like that! When your car is under warranty demand that they fix it!

If I was confident the dealer in question could perform the work to my standards then I probably would have insisted. However if they are really that adverse to doing that sorta work Id rather just find someone who isnt..

I just noticed mine was peeling as well. Mine wasn't installed from factory so I don't get to tell the dealership to fix it. :( I just used a trim tool piece and tried to flattening it back out.

Mine is also bubbling and starting to peel as well. Although I do not garage the car at all, I only have 1k miles on it so this is a bit disconcerting. I'm having it serviced under warranty next week. More than likely they will have to just replace all the trim.

Thats not good to hear, I was hoping they would up the quality on the newer pieces. I still have not gotten mine replaced. (was waiting till they get real bad so the dealer doesnt give me any crap about it)

Went to the dealership yesterday and was brought directly to the service manager. I pointed out the peeling on the trim on all four doors and the gap right above the grille that is hopefully just bad clips. They are going to replace the trim pieces with new ones once they come in. They also will take apart the front grille and bumper to see what's causing the gap and replace any clips on my appointment next week. So far, only good experience and quick turn around at this service center.
