Big ass f****ing rockchip

so I was minding my own business driving on the freeway, and out of no where I hear this big "bang" sound coming from the passenger side. Got to work and looked. And this is what I found. Mother fucker....car is less than a year old and this is on the rear passenger side door. If it was on the hood I wouldn't care since it's easily removable.

I guess my options are to get a new door skin or to have the body shop bondo that shit up and repaint right?

Dr. Colorchip may do the trick but it would require several applications to build the paint level up to where it needs to be.

It's actually quite deep. Seems like it's to the metal. I'm thinking either 1, have it popped out by a PDR guy and repaint. Or have the shop just sand it down and put body filler and then repaint.

Could see that dent a mile away..

If only it hit the door handle..fuck

Get the dent popped out first then see where you need to go from there.

Definitely this, I did not realize it was an actual dent at first. A good PDR guy can work wonders. It won't help with paint damage but will be a good starting point.

I don't think PDR can work in that area cuz I checked, the area there is where the outer skin and inner skin almost meet. So there's really no space for a PDR guy to get his tool there to pop it out. Waiting for a quote from the body shop..

Dang. Comprehensive insurance should cover it, could be worth it if your deductible is low enough.

Lol. Hadn't thought about that. Would be a good idea if the process was easier to locate one.

True, but with my deductible, it doesn't make much difference. And the hassle of dealing with the insurance company and what not.

I'm dropping off the car on Monday at the shop. Turn around time is 3 days. They're pretty well regarded in their work. Authoritized Honda/acura shop, in addition to all the other major import brands and exotics. So hopefully they'll do a perfect job.

Thanks! Did a quick search, didn't find a LSM hatch near me. Will definitely keep this site in mind if I need any spare parts!
