I wanted a s3 or s4/s5 before I bought the civic. Just didn't want to spend the money. I have no regrets since I was .5 slower than a audi rs5 at the track in my Si. Still want a s5 though.

Totally agree with their assessment. The beauty is that, for 50k, one can own two of the best on that list by buying pre-owned. Used ND Miatas are around 18-19k. Truly best of both worlds.
