I’m with Pembridge insurance, thru PC insurance brokers. $1,350/year with clean record. I checked TD, and their rates were $1,800. As far as decent and honest; I doubt any are.
Call up PC insurance and see what they have to say. They have a pool of a dozen or so companies to choose from
Thank you so much for your reply. I appreciate it very much. Best reply so far

fwiw, in the states, you can sometimes get a discount if you go back for "defensive" driving courses. Might be worth asking any of the ins companies you ask if they offer ways to help an "at risk" driver.

Good luck!

Insurance companies seem to be sharing information, so it might be hard to find a ‘compassionate’ one. They R ohganized. The ‘good’ one might be the most desperate and unreliable, not so compassionate for most of their customers.

They are bad, but not in the way people like to think. Some might just keep slowly increasing the premiums without any reason and grossly overcharging just because they count on many people being too lazy to bother and switch.
But insurance companies are very good at statistics and they should be able to differentiate between bad luck and a high risk driver.
Insurance business is very socialist. They are working for (the majority of) the people by cutting off the risky drivers. Like any business they have no money of their own to pay for risky drivers. They use my money to pay for the damage caused by high risk drivers. And I’m The People. Nothing personal about it, just majority rule and business. I pay $135 for three cars and three drivers including my daughter, and I want to keep the insurance working for people like us by excluding the high risk drivers.

Besides, driving is overrated. So many unlucky people lose their drivers license and just carry on without driving.

People drive like FK'n idiots in Ontario, Cananda. I can see why your BF's insurance would be high. I had a GF in Mississauga and she used to get mad at me for NOT driving aggresively and for sropping at yellow lights.. And then she would complain about how nobody knows how to drive there... Good luck getting scammed, I mean getting insurance
