are there any coilover options for the SI?

Looking to lower the Si. but I really like the Adaptive dampener... i'm guessing coilovers would remove this.

There's hardly any options for coilovers for the Civic at all... :dunno:

The adaptive dampers are highly sensitive to rate and height changes. So much that I'm questioning whether Honda will even offer HFP springs for the Si.

KW and Bilstein are both reported to be making consumer friendly kits. Bilstein already has an HPD kit on the market. I'd suggest waiting another 3-6 months to see what they offer.

theirs at least 4 different brands for the other ones. but I haven't seen any for the Si or R. I wonder if they'll fit the SI...

yeah, for almost 2 years out of one of the most modified cars in history, it's a shame. Let alone how many of the offerings/upcoming offerings are even from a reputable brand

for the greatest Civic yet, the aftermarket pickup is pretty underwhelming

not that I don't believe you, but what do you base your comment on?

lack of R&D for almost 2 years is because they were doing R&D for a car that just came out a few months ago? yeahhhhhhh, not buying it. I don't buy for a second that all the suspension attention is to the R - if anything, that's the last thing TypeR owners will touch.

2016 was CVT only so I see why companies weren't going to jump right on it. and I'd say that for 2 years theirs been plenty of aftermarket love for the 10th gen.

and with the type R.. lets be honest theirs a large enough group of R owners that will change anything they can. even if its probably not a good idea. And my comment was directed at the Si/R which came out at relatively the same time

Quite simply, adaptive shocks/struts have a narrower control range over traditional ones. On other applications, reducing the suspension travel can result in an exponential increase in bump stop contact. Those not versed in suspension perceive it as "stiffer." When in fact the car is simply riding at or near its travel limit.

IMHO, you'll want to be sure manufacturer has tested the spring to work with the Si's ADS. KW makes a DCC compliant system for VW. And they're considering one for the Si as well. It's nothing more than a dual chambered shock and spring that plugs into the Si's ADS harness. But the valving is configured specifically for KW's own spring and height range.

makes sense, thanks

The only ones I've seen with active suspension are standard coilovers but with offererings of plugins to kill any errors for the suspension. So the computer still thinks it did something to the suspension whereas the actual suspension components are no longer controlled or connected to the computer.

Ohlins makes these for their suspension kits. Perhaps others.

I too am waiting for something to come out in the market but will still work with our active dampening system. I want to lower it a tad bit with some nice wheels...looking at some TE37 or CE28 ;)

Very true. I wouldn't mind some HFP springs by Honda. I know that if KW came out with some coil overs for us it would be very pricey..but I guess we will see. A set from Bilstein wouldn't be bad either..hopefully some options soon!
