I see everyone running. Hondata or that other one. But don’t see much talk about the JB4 tuner on here.

Anyone running it?

The JB4 pigtail setup seems like a very poor option compared to Ktuner or Hondata. It was not a finished product when they released it, not sure if they “resolved” that or not.

What do you mean by it wasn’t finished?
Looks like they still haven’t figured it out.

It is also disappointing that the cable to connect it to your computer is $35, and the Bluetooth module is an additional $140. Neither Ktuner or Honda charge anything extra for those.

Oh wow
And he’s getting basically the same amount of power with less capabilities yea?

We’ve seen a very safe gain of 55whp / 76 ft lbs with Ktuner on a stock Si. There is no reason a tune with Hondata could not offer the same. I have my reservations about any pigtail setup doing that safely, if at all.

We’ve seen over 400whp on a modified Si with Ktuner. ~200whp over stock. That was certainly more than just a tune, but I don’t see anyone doing that with a pigtail on this platform.

Just go with Ktuner and you'll be good to go and very satisfied with the result. A simply "plug, transfer and play" process!

Piggyback should always been a last/final option. Issue being there is no intelligent control between the piggyback and the ECU. The Piggyback will attempt to manipulate signals, but ultimately the ECU will still correct. That can lead to improper signals or voltage out of range which can cause problems.

Full disclosure - I had a BurgerTuning JB+ on two Mini S (n18 engine) and was able to run additional boost, however I also fried two sets of ignition coils and an ECU.... possibly a coincidence.... but maybe not. I also had a Perfect Power SMT6 on a Mazda Protege and was able to run an additional injector before the TB (and that engine block decided it needed 3 large holes one day).

I'll never mess with a piggyback again.

All this talk has me wondering. Anyone around that's gone with MOTEC or AEM infinity or the like, of course it'll cost more and there aren't OTS maps as far as I know but would seem with a custom tune... well I'll just stop the speculation, I want a first hand account

I was interested in it to avoid voiding the warranty since it can be removed easily and isn't flashing. But the perpetual beta status as well as a lack of testing or reviews or any real data besides one dyno pull on a cvt hatch leaves me skeptical.

JB4 won't throw a ECU flash increment though no? I don't need to make 400hp. I just want to get rid of the rev hang and maybe add 30 ft-lbs or so.

Google for burger JB4 coils

Well documented by many owners that the JB4 causes premature failure of coils and injectors, with many needing to replace their ECU as well.

I lived it, and 2 of my friends have too. Not recommended.
