I wouldn't. Sport Touring wheel specs are 18x8 and +50, so 8.5 and +35 would be a lot further outboard. Changes the scrub radius quite a bit, might rub the fender, etc.

I understand rubbing, that's pretty easy. I'm not a suspension or chassis dynamics engineer, how does increasing scrub radius affect the Civic's handling? I went through the Wikipedia article, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrub_radius ,but how does it apply to the Civic? Putting the center-line of the wheel 15mm outward doesn't seem too bad.

Found this:
http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArtic...ur-caster-king-pin-inclination-and-scrub.aspx

Near the bottom, they say:
In AWD and FWD cars, you want to try to limit the scrub radius to less than 2” because it increases the effects of torque steer.
More on the next page after that:

It might not matter too much unless you're driving too hard for the street, but it's something to keep in mind.

if you're not lowering your car and running the same or similar diameter tire you won't have any issues. Myself and others are/have run up to 9.5" wide wheels with offsets around +30 to +35 on a moderate drop (1-2" all around) with no issues with rubbing. I'm currently running 9.5 wide +15 offsets lowered to eliminate all gap (probably about 3-3.5" all around), did a slight fender roll and am running negative 2.5 degrees of camber up front and negative 3.5 degrees in the rear with zero toe all around. I've put 5K on my first wheel setup and tire wear is real good.

Here are 3 images to my setup, the first two are 17x9 +10 offset and 215/50/17 tires, third picture is 17x9 +30 offset same tire. When I go over bumps I experience small amounts of rubbing on the inner fender well on the front near the side marker light. The rubbing has occurred enough times to rub a small slit in the fender well, nothing noticable or large enough to effect it, but just something to keep in mind. It no longer rubs now, because it's rubbed enough away from the fender well.

I take it back, after a few more days driving I'm definitely rubbing in the front at that same push clip as the rest of you, so torn on the solution, I'm loving how the car handles with 245's on it, don't really wanna downsize.

For me, the rubbing is not bad at all. After a few times it has done a self fitment and lo longer rubs. Its a very small contact patch so I am not going to do anything about it. If anything else inner fender wells are $50 at most.

This is my current setup. 18x8 et 35 on 225/45 tires. I'm on eibach sportlines and no rub whatsoever. Maybe another 10mm or less can be added actually

A bit off topic, but how do those springs ride? I'm debating on some BC coilovers or the springs.

This looks pretty good, exactly what I was thinking of doing , except maybe could this time, I get tired of the battleship look, I don't understand what nearly every set of springs (Tien, eibach, hr that I've had) drops the back lower than the front
