1.5T + Ktuner = a lot of fun. With a good tune alone this absolutely hauls, and can attest to great for highway passes. On my drive back from Florida visiting family, the long flat sections of 95 make hitting 120 mph pretty easy.

Also squared up while I was down there at one point with a white 2.0L that flew past me. Only reason they ever caught back up to me after I passed them was because I had to get off on my exit.

If you’re going to do a lot of highway driving the 1.5 turbo is your best bet I had a 2014 Elantra with a 2.0 and 6 speed auto I know it not the same car but the HP and torque where similar to the Honda 2.0 ( Honda a little more I believe) I get better mileage out of the 1.5 turbo than I could ever get out of the Elantra even on eco mod

Actually, no. That's about where the 1.5T really starts to pull on the highway. Even stock, the midrange highway power is really good. For reference, even stock, I easily pulled away from those pesky 10th gens in their LX sedans foolheartedly attempting to challenge me.

Ive had the same thoughts and or possible regret about buying the 2.0 NA Sport Sedan, but im pretty happy. I commute about 73 miles a day to work and average about 29-32 mpg. I have the power I need to pass cars especially when I put it in "sport" mode. Its nice looking and has nice features and when I really think about it I dont see myself changing unless its a type R.

BTW mine is a CVT with just a K&N air filter

I just found out today that my mom's 2019 Mazda CX-3 is faster than the 2.0 NA Civic to 60MPH o_O

Thanks for the replies. I think i'm probably going to make the switch either before or after my lease ends just gotta figure out when is the best time. Probably a dumb question but is the 11th gen supposed to be coming out in 2021? Or is the 10th gen still going to be in production for that year as well?

Brain fart?

I've heard rumors that the 11th gen won't come out til 2022 at the earliest.

Had the 2.0 sport MT for a year, and switched to an EX hatch with the 1.5t this past Sunday... haven’t really drove it too hard yet, but there’s not much difference as far with the smaller motor, pretty peppy so far. Waiting to break it in a few hundred miles before I slam on the pedal. There’s already a noticeable gas mileage difference in city driving.

Yeah I fixed it lol. That makes sense though since the 8th gen lasted from 2006-2011 so i'm assuming they're following the same cycle.

Good vid but why does the 2.0 0-60 have a boost gauge in the cluster if there's no turbo? Also 7.2 seconds seems too fast for a stock 2.0, maybe that's a 1.5?
You're right, that must be a 1.5T then.

Aside from that it also looks like the CivicX 2.0 is available with different gauge clusters:

I recently posted that already in another thread, but here a comparison video of the 0 to 60 accelerations between the 2.0, 1.5T and 1.8, all with CVT:

One little tip for the best times. If your CVT is equipped with "L" mode, use that for your runs. The engine will hang at peak power versus the fake shifting S mode.

All the online reviewers getting 6.6-6.7 seconds on a stock CVT 1.5T generally used L.

Is there a video of such an acceleration? To me that sounds more like poor measurement method, Ktuner or a downhill road.

Official time is 8.2 seconds, yes it can be a bit fast but I don't believe it's that much.

Videos? Absolutely. Quite a few. Alex on Autos is legit and respected. Watch the video starting at around the 8:30 mark.

If you don't want to believe what I post (as you seem to give me a hard time with every post I make) that's fine. But, most here know I try to post only factual, helpful and informative stuff.

The 1.5T is not an 8.2 second 0 to 60 vehicle. That's more in the realm of the 2.0 CVT.

Here are Edmund's results:

With a base tune on high octane gas you could easily see a half second or more gain over those numbers. Times in the high 5's are attainable with something like the TSP Stage 1 tune.

MotorTrend recorded a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds.
https://www.motortrend.com/cars/honda/civic/2019/2019-honda-civic-touring-first-test-review/

I've only done a few runs & have a 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds. This is with the trans in D. While I didn’t detect any wheel spin there could have been some. At the time we had snow & it was mostly melted but perhaps there was still a bit of moisture and/or salt on the road. I'll try again when summer gets here.
