I'm in the process a buying a 2017 Blue Honda Civic Sporting Touring for my son this week and we are going over the list of mods we want to do first and Rally Armour mud guards was near the top of the list. At $150 that seemed way over priced for mud guards until I watched a YouTube video on them. I like how they extend about an inch past the body to protect the paint.

We were thinking of the red with black lettering or possibly black with red lettering. Anybody use these? Thoughts?

List of "must have" mods we want to do first:

ABS Dynamics R Wing ($170 + $325 for paint)
Ebay Type R wheels ($600)
Rally Armour mud guards ($150)
Pinstripping around base of vehicle ($20)
Red badging throughout ($100ish)

We want to add HKS Legamax exhaust ($1100) but that will probably have to wait till next year.

RallyArmor mudflaps are great. They help keep the back of the rear relatively clean. Material is smooth, pliable, and strong (not hard plastic). Red looks good on a blue car. Make sure to select the set for the regular Civic hatchback. Type R has different fitment.

TypeSiR, really? I would have assumed the Type R and any Hatchback trim would have the same fitment. Thanks for the heads up.

Keep in mind your hatchback will not look like the Type R just by throwing a wing on it. The Type R has a wide body kit, while the hatchback does not, which may make the wing look out of place. Just a fair warning. Good luck and your son is lucky!

Novadrive, I appreciate that. My son turns 16 in 10 days, he just wants this thing to look like something out of the Fast and Furious, lol. And in his eyes the wing accomplishes that.

Here's my hatchback sport with the rally armor mud flaps. I got the white lettering because I'd rather have it pop than be subtle (gray), and white looks the cleanest

He said,
List of must have mods:

Make it a Type R

I joke, that’s awesome that you’re helping him start out strong. Buddy has these mud flaps on his R they look good, I’ll proably get them as well.

I have both sport hatch and type R,
I put rallyarmor mudflap on both cars and they are great. No complain

And the two cars has different mount point and bracket is not the same for sure.

For rim, I don't suggest eBay replica type R rim... it is pretty cheap quality... why not buy aftermarket rim?

The flaps definitely make the car look more "squat" and give the illusion of width, haha. Too bad I'm still on the stock wheel/tires, contemplating 18x9.5 wheels as my next mod

123sillyboy he really likes those rims. Have you heard of any issues with them? We would keep the Sports wheels just incase.
