I was literally about to mention the IS300 being a reliable inline 6 from toyota. My pops still has his with 290k and is looking to buy the CTR. He has been contemplating selling it to fork out the mark up for the CTR but i keep telling him its not worth it. IMO the altezza is going to be one of those sought after tuning cars that are hard to come by in manual. Convinced him to stop being impatient and then we can turn the altezza into a track machineOne of the best cars I owned! They came with the 2JZ, a 5 speed, limited slip, RWD- ugh!
I sold this earlier this year, after having almost 240k miles. One of the most reliable, fun and best feeling cars I have driven. Coming to the Si was different, but in many good ways. I do miss the RWD feel of that car, especially in the winter time and being able to pop the rear end out so easily. The Si is fun, nimble, economical and still a blast to drive overall. I have no regrets coming to it, but will always have a soft spot for the IS300s. Definitely will want to pick one up down the line from down south and mod/restore it up.
