I've been using Sport 90% of the time since day one. I like tighter steering feel in my cars so it's a must for me. Only use regular on long rides upstate when I don't wanna burn through gas.

So I'm finally nearing the end of that 600 mile break-in period and have been dying to use Sport Mode. Question is, can I always use it or should I only use it when it's really needed?
I used throughout my break in period to assist in varying RPM especially on the highway; found it useful as the CVT tries to keep revs low to max out mpg.

I put it in sport mode as I was test driving it before the purchase. It was very helpful in deciding on the purchase! :D

And it's a lot more fun after putting an exhaust system and when your coworker wants to race his 9th gen SI on the way home.

This thread is confused between the SPORT mode on Si or Type R and the drive S on CVT.
They are different things.

Assuming this is a Sport Mode in Civic Si kinda question, mine does not leave that mode while driving. Every time I get in I take the following steps:

  1. Start car
  2. Remove parking break
  3. Activate Sport Mode
The car does not know what it's like to drive in any other mode, except on the rare occasions I forget step 3. I usually remember shortly into the drive after taking a corner.

I like sport mode for the additions of red lights to the instrument panel -- kind of weird but true :)
