There are a number of aftermarket companies doing their own versions of Stage 1 and Stage 2 for the Ktuner manual transmission cars but none of them are doing anything for the CVT.

I'm happy with the Ktuner starter tunes but it would be nice to have some different calibration options available to buy without going the custom etune route.

Would any other CVT owners be interested in something like that?

Starter 21 dual with adjustments, yeah.

As far as the idea of a Stage 1 aftermarket tune for the base turbos/CVT, TSP is interested. The issue is their tuner (Derek) only owns an Si so they need to find someone willing to "loan them" a car for testing purposes.

When Hondata and Ktuner first did their 10th gen tunes they both bought CVT Civics because that was what was available. Now it's all about the Si and Type R which I get, but it still sucks.

I was just hoping we'd get a generic TSP type Stage 1 CVT tune that would surpass the base Ktuner stuff and we'd only have to pay $100 or so for it like the Si one. I guarantee people would jump on that. I had also contacted MAPerformance a while back but they didn't seem interested.

It sounds interesting. How much further you willing to go with power outside of the basemap? Isn't that 'iffy' territory, with people worrying about breaking their trans?
Good luck! Sounds good on the surface.

I'd be interested but only if a tuner had the capability and know-how to be able to:
1) Make the CVT force the engine to rest at max rpm when going wide open throttle (Not none of the bullshi* shifting that we have now),
2) Move the max rpm to wherever I/they see is the max horsepower. (This can change due to the modifications you have).

That's generally it for me. Everything else is perfect.

I just feel like I'd like a bit more top end. Not torque, but a few more hp. Right now the tune is about midrange mostly.

I completely agree. The car is a mid range monster however I do mostly highway driving so passing power/speed (top end hp vs torque) is what I needz.

EXACTLY.

Same here. It's so potent in the midrange and sometimes it just fizzles out on those high speed passing moves. Some of it is a limitation with the turbo and some of it is the way the tune is programmed.

just raise your boost up with the stock IGN table...
raise it up to 23-24psi above 4500 rpm or whatever you want

I am playing around with the boost from 4000 or so up and final boost target.

You think maybe 23psi and then 24psi for the final would work?

This thread trailed off. Have you played with these settings?

Yep. Absolutely. And it had the desired effect. I was running 23 PSI from 4000 to 5500 rpm. And then tapered it back down. Saw 24+ PSI peak here and there at WOT. But, then all these "honey, I blew my engine" threads popped up and I went back to the base 21 PSI with tweaks. I guess I got scared.

That's why the idea of a pro tuned, generic, more potent tune for $99 seemed appealing.

There isn't any pro tune for your cvt for $99?

Nope! Unless you want to count Ktuner Stage 2. Then yes... It's good!
Well that's just a basemap
