Has anyone used this yet?

http://afepower.com/afe-power-77-46601-pk-scorcher-gt-power-package

It's basically an intake and a piggyback system which increases boost and throttle response, which apparently leaves no trace on the ECU compared to a real tune, since nothing is flashed. Claimed power gains of 30hp and 42lb/ft.

It reminds me of the BMW kits from Burger tuning.

If it says 1.5T, is it compatible with the hatch as well?
Yep

I definitely would not recommend this by the way, at least not until we learn way more about it.

While I agree that I want to learn more about it (hence the thread), it seems aFe is a reputable company. Here's the popular one from Burger Tuning http://www.burgertuning.com/stage_1_bmw_performance_tuners.html

I considered a CPO 328/335i and these seem to be pretty popular as the ECU isn't flashed which could help with warranty claims, presuming you remove the system before bringing it to a dealer. However, if the dealer dug into the logs I'm sure they could tell that more boost was being delivered.

I know of at least one Honda dealer that sells this kit and provides a warranty for cars with this installed.

I'll pony up and do it.

I'll be the tester. Now is there any way someone can help me fund this?

How would this work on Ktuner with a CVT?
Don't even attempt it. It's configured for the stock tune. I can imagine thing's going wrong with 2 tunning units

I did a piggyback with my suzuki sx4 and it worked pretty good BUT it was only because no one had a tuning solution for it. Having ktuner and hondata available, I wouldn't attempt it personnally as it only fools the computer and doesn't adjust anything on the fly. It will show on the computer datalog that the boost is higher so if you do blow up the engine and Honda takes a look at the computer they'll notice the increased boost pressure.

Your choice in the end but to me a piggyback is only a solution if there are no other alternatives.
