Hi all,

Went to my local Honda Dealer test drove a 2020 Sport and boy was it good. Unfortunately there are no incentives so the payments would be about what I am paying now on my 2017 Hatch Sport which when I bought it I had to roll over about $4,200 in negative equity. I got a 36 months/15,000 miles lease at the time.

However they had one last 2019 EX Hatch on the lot and it was a good test drive too. I had them run the numbers.

I would save about 50 or so bucks per month with a lease.

Here are the numbers:

Vehicle Price: $24,670
Discount: -$2,541.62
Dealer Price: $22,128.38
Weather Tech Mats $199.00
Sales Tax: $2,132.02
Doc Fee $85.00
Smog Abatement fee $20.00
Tag/Registration $282.00
Electronic Filing $30.00
Flat Add/County Fee $11.00
Other $29.00
-------------------------------------------------------
OTD Price $24,671.82

With a lease, 36 month/12K miles, payment would about $410 per month. I could probably knock off about 5 bucks if the mats are removed.

Would this be a good deal?
My car has $244.58 positive equity at this time. I am thinking of selling the car outright to the dealer and get a check for the positive equity.

Thanks

Hi all,

I looked closer at the overall deal and found it was not that great of a deal. I think I will negotiate with some other dealers but give a bit more time. I guess Honda hasn't released the numbers yet for the 2020's and I don't want to be overcharged at this point. I checked with the Edmund's Honda Leasing forum and leasehackrs.com to check out what the payment would equal to in the Money Factor and it ended up being around 10% so that is a no.
Maybe I should just try and do a deal through email instead of at the dealership.

My current lease matures March 2020. I know the 2020's are not going to have great deals at this time. I am looking to lease at this time. I really like the interior upgrades to the 2020 Hatchback Sport.
