That's the best blackout look for the front grille bar I've seen. The matte black looks better than the ones that were done in gloss black. And cheap DIY solution too

The window trim also looks blacked out? Those were plastidipped too?

Dude. Well done. I'm bookmarking this one and will be doing exactly this when I get mine.

Looking good. Less chrome is always better!

People make fun of plastidip but it really is perfect for some projects like these. It's silly when you plastidip an entire car like I've seen done, but in moderation it's not only cheaper to use plastidip but also just easier.

I love that plastidip doesn't require any commitment, but now that I've seen how sinister it looks I will be redoing it in low gloss black paint if the plastidip starts to show its age

I like.

More so since they took the due diligence and matched it flat the molding in color grille base.

Other just gloss finish the chrome without changing the base and it looks off putting.

Thanks for sharing. I was planning to do the same thing when I get my civic coupe, so now I actually know what it looks like in the production civic vs. the concept. I'm also planning to plasti dip the roof of my car black so I'll make sure to share that when the time comes.

Wow. That looks like it was always supposed to be that way. Very nice job.

looking good.

i like that!... i feel like the new civic is a little chrome happy. especially in a day and age when many cars are going away from the chrome and more of body color accents. ... i would like to do the same thing with my future black civic. ... once you get tired of the black dipped grill , etc. you should give white plasti dip a try. i think that would look great too.

cheers!

Any DIY instructions? I am assuming the parts have to be removed first. Looks sharp.
