Will be dedicating this thread to my install and sound clips of my 27WON full turbo-back (catted DP + FP + catback) exhaust system.

Just got the shipment this evening, from WA to Ontario, Canada in about a week. My dog was not nearly as thrilled as I was to find it at out doorstep after a walk.

Everything was packaged super securely, ripped into everything immediately upon arrival. Generously threw in a couple little extra goodies as well :D

All the components are beautiful and clearly very high quality. Unfortunately it's gonna take a little time to coordinate an install as I need to borrow my dad's driveway, there's no room at my apartment complex :p

Initial Impressions

The exhaust is loud! Not obnoxious, but waaay lounder than stock. Very deep and agressive tone at low RPMs, a bit of cabin vibration right at 2200 RPM, but tapers off very quickly on either side of it. Easy enough to have a conversation in the cabin, even with music playing.

I'm happy I went with the catted DP, both as a responsible friend of the whales and from a noise perspective. I wouldn't want it any louder than it is. Even with a catted setup, I get plenty of pops/gurgles/rumbles out of the back and it puts a smile on my face every time.

From what I can tell, 27WON nailed the "anti-drone" side branch resonators on the muffler portion of the exhaust. Right where they said these resonators would perform (~3k and 4.2k RPM) there is no drone at all, which is the range where I cruise around / accelerate at.

The system is quite aggressive during cold start-up, especially in my underground parking garage :p. It tapers off quickly though, and at warm idle there is just a pleasant rumbling behind you, sexy and discrete.

After about 80km, 50/50 city/highway, I've had no CEL come on yet. I'm using the provided O2 spacer/defouler but have not disabled the secondary O2 in Ktuner yet, waiting to see if it is necessary.

My one wish, cosmetically, would maybe be for the tips to protrude a bit further from the rear bumper, I think it would have set the look off even more.

Overall, worth every penny. The car now has an aggressive sound to match its looks, and it will definitely turn some heads.

---INSTALL---

Day 1:
upper downpipe heatshield removed

My plan is to soak those 4 troublesome studs in PB Blaster for a couple of days prior to install. Took some fanangling to get the heatshield out without removing too many parts. Ended up removing the Mishimoto intake box and working the heatshield out from between the coolant hoses and the IC pipe

Day 2: loading up the car

Hit the bolts again with PB Blaster and loaded up the car with my shiny new pipes and my tools. Off to my dad's tomorrow AM to get to work.

Day 3: Install day!

Got the whole exhaust installed, took a beautiful Friday off work to spend the whole day on it.

I tried to take more pics of the reassembly process, however I hit a very frustrating snag that slowed me down dramatically at one point, and in the interest of working in the daylight I had to skip the photos.

Removing the 3 studs off of the stock DP lower flange to re-use on the 27WON DP turned out to be extremely frustrating. After visiting four (?!) stores in rush-hour traffic, I finally found appropriate sized nuts to do the "double nut trick" and back the studs out of the flange. Cost me about 2 hours just trying to get over that hurdle, the rest of the process was remarkably straight forward.

I am also very happy with my decision to PB Blast the upper DP/turbo studs over a couple days before install. The penetrating oil combined with my 24" breaker bar removed the nuts with very little effort. Was very nervous doing that part, but it all worked out beautifully.

More pics of the pipes will come later.

Nice, I have the exhaust but not the DP/FP. I'll follow your thread to see and hear the difference. Good luck on the install.

Are you happy with the exhaust part? Sound clips sounded gnarly.

Got the system installed yesterday! A few headaches, but I love the system. It's a head-turner for sure. See above for disassembly photos / initial impressions. After photos and sound clips to come when I get time to record. :D

Hit me up if you have any questions about the exhaust or install!:nixon:

Great job. I wish I could run the same setup but it costs a bit to much for me. I'm totally jealous, thanks for sharing :)
