Hey everyone, I have been hearing this whiring noise in my 2017 hatch sport with a six speed transmission.

I hear it the loudest in first gear (little to no road noise) but I know it is present in higher gears. It only happens between 2500 and 2800 rpms when I am holding the throttle steady. I tried to take a video of the noise, I will post the link. It sounds like a whiring drone almost like a bad wheel bearing.

Sorry if i didn't post right I'm new here.

Thanks!

This is a Type R specific section of the forums. You'll probably get more relevant information over on the general tenth gen section.

That being said, I'd recommend taking that to the dealer. Sounds pretty bad.

Thanks for the heads up. I will do both of those things.

My Si halfshaft bearing lost all grease.
Take to the dealer or do a visual inspection of engine bay, under the motor by oil filter area and axles and see if anything looks bad or greasy.

No noise at all just dark grease was being flung around by steering box and on under tray that you remove to change oil.
