Has anyone heard of a general "refresh" to the Civic line for 2020? I was talking with my local dealer a few weeks ago and he said the line should be due for a little refresh, not a total redesign, in 2020. Anybody heard anything?

Umm... the 2019 Civic was just refreshed. You may want to take advice from a different dealer. ;) 2022 should be the real change... to the 11th gen.

It was refreshed in 2019. 2020 i'd presume will have changes but will be very minor again. My guess is 2020 might add apple car play on the sport hatch, that's a big might since they just gave everyone honda's sensing package on all models in 2019 for free. Realistically, this thing will become an 11th gen in 2022 or 2023. Comparing 8th to 9th gen from a looks standpoint they didn't change tons. It's possible 11th is just a revision of 10th gen (same platform updated tech and design). Car "redesigns' are kind of meh lately. I mean mazda 3 just redid theirs and it's not miles different than last gen.

The hatch and the Si will get mild body and interior updates, but the sedan and coupe lower models already had there's.

I'm just trying to figure out how it will be referred to. The Gen Ex-Eye, Gen One One, Gen 'Leven, 'Leventh Gen...?

Civic X sounds cool because it's a nice simple X. Civic XI just looks and sounds a lot like Civic "Si".

I'm thinking we'll just say "Civic 11" or "11th gen".

They said they were ramping up orders ahead of closing to make sure produced cars match demand for the months after Swindon closes

I don't think there will be any changes for 2020, we just had updates for 2019. Plants are probably preparing for the 11th gen.

hatch and Si are due for a mid model refresh. New gen civic is 2-3 years away

Nope, the Sedan and Coupe non Si were updated last year. The only thing the hatch and Si got was the new head unit with a volume knob. You will see new front fascia on the hatch/si for the 2020 model launching later this year

I'm aware that the Sedan and coupe got minor cosmetic updates last year. It's just I don't think the Si, Type R and Hatch will be getting any further updates, they got the important updates just last year.

What important update did the SI and hatch get last year? a Volume knob wasn't important. There were no cosmetic changes to the Hatch, Si or R, and I cant remember in the history of being in the Honda game where they let a model/trim go 5-6 yrs with no cosmetic updates.
