This is just a guess, but I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the entire rear end of the body is quite different. Trunklid, roofline, rear quarter panels. The coupe is around 5" shorter than the sedan, and it's not just the bumper.

I attached a side-by-side comparison photo. You can see the trunklid wouldnt align, the mounting point against the body panel is not the same size or place, and your exhaust would be too long.

What about the regular Civic models? Like the Touring or just any of the EX sedans? I'd prefer that bumper style anyway. Do you think those are the same size as the Si Sedan?

Probably wouldn't work, but I like the speculation regardless. One big difference would be with the exhaust tip.

What about the regular Civic models?
I already mentioned in my reply right before yours. :)

Since the grill on the 2019 comes without the horizontal strip, I wonder where are they going to put the Si emblem?

They'd probably put it on top of the grill like the Honda Fit RS I assume.

From the sounds of it, I don't think they get the new Sport grill just yet. Exterior looks to be 100% unchanged on the Si, aside from the paint scheme.

2019 Sport for reference (front bumper looks to be shared with base 2019 trims):

Sorry, what I meant is... do you think that it's possible to replace the Si rear bumper with, say, the Touring rear bumper?

EDIT: Forget it, I placed one over the other in Photoshop. Their bodies are similar, but not quite the same. I guess I just gotta live with it if I get it, and decide for myself that it looks "decent enough."

I just don't know why they didn't bother changing it. Literally almost all reviews think it looks horrible.

With the new "sport" line, it makes me feel like my SI is less special :(
Maybe it's time to upgrade wheels and change out the HDMI exhaust

Do we know when Honda will be announcing the 2019 Si? Once again I'm very curious about the head unit to see if it's going to get the upgraded version. If so, wondering about retrofitting my 2017 with one.

Don't think you will be able to swap in a 2019 display audio into a 2017 SI , I took a look at the wiring schematics on techinfo (they are released) and even though the plugs are all the same the wiring has changes in numerous places. A lot of now-standard ADAS stuff that SI does not have would probably make it a long shot at best. Not to mention that would be a lot of cash for a volume knob.

I emailed Honda a couple weeks ago about the 2019 SI and they told me the info about it would be released 10/10/2018, emailed them this morning to follow up. Hopefully we will know more soon.

Honda has not revealed anything on si, sport and hatchback. The current models on these trims have different bumper with the same grill if I didn't miss anything, so we won't know what they are cooking until it's revealed.

They've already released the features and specs. Si gets the infotainment and EPB update. No exterior changes, no sensing.

Kinda hard to believe they’d give the sport model the same grille, wheels, and exhaust as the Si. Hopefully they come out with at least a new wheel design on the Si or make the HFP wheels standard on all Si’s

The exhaust finisher is similar but that’s about it it doesn’t look the Si to me

Guess in that case, the advantage the Si will have over the Sport models will be 1.5T, manual, LSD, adaptive suspension, and seats.

Possible. Reports say the hatch gets their refresh in MY 2020.
Won’t that be the 11th generation by 2020?

It looks like a normal trim with the Si trapezoidal muffler tip and bumper diffuser.
