It is likely. Again, I don't think the 2.5 is a match for Honda's 1.5 turbo. Even though it has decent power, it doesn't at all feel performance-oriented and I think Honda's motor is much better in terms of feel, usability and NVH. For anyone having trouble making a decision, I definitely recommend test driving both.
I can't find it, but one of the members on CivicX posted a pretty detailed comparison (with dyno results) between the 1.5T and the 2.5L.

Let’s use your own source and check on the second annual lemon list. The one you quoted was from 2015. This is from 2016. So can we conclude that Honda cars are shittier than Mazda’s based on the ranking?

I can also find data to back up any claim I want. Also Mercedes and BMW in the top 5 is a joke.
Mercedes are pretty reliable as long as proper maintenance is done..well at least for the diesel ones I can't say for the gas motors because I never owned a gas merc

Only Mazdas that are worth it are certified about a year old because they depreciate so fast and the new Mazda 6 over the 3..feels cramped in there and torsion bar setup is terrible
