That is a blanket statement. The FA20 found in the BRZ does not have a head gasket issue. In fact, the head gasket issue is known, yes, but for the old EJ series and older which is almost no longer present in most of the Subaru line up and is even being discontinued in the STi(finally).

There is a major complaint for the BRZ, but that isn't it. The engine is actually pretty reliable.

If boxer engines are so bad, I'd think Porsche would've moved on already.
