I read that some of us here have take delivery of the 2019 SI.
From the outside, is there any way to tell if a SI is 2019?

Beyond the new toxic yellow and white, I don’t think there is any external change. But there may be internal tweeks we can’t see, other than head unit

I am sure that there are unannounced tweets.

I test drove a 2019 and a new 2018. I couldn’t figure out what the big deal is with having a volume knob so I bought the new 2018 for a good deal. 99% of the time I use the volume control on the steering wheel anyways.

Plus the new volume knob and buttons look as if were sourced from the spare parts bin. The clean head unit on 18 and below looks better I think

Exactly. To me the added buttons make it look like a downgrade from the 2018

Get an 2018...pricing should be better and you won’t get raped with back end charges. They want those 2018’s gone so you may get a killer deal for it. Forget the radio knob the HP is the same and mostly everything else.

Not having a volume knob never bugged me. I hit the HVAC knob once trying to turn down the volume and that was when I first bought the car. I almost exclusively use the steering wheel volume control and it hasn't been an issue. Now that I see the knob on the 2019's, I think it looks cheaper and uglier.

I love the volume knob! I only use the steering wheel controls but it's funny to watch my wife struggle to reach the volume knob.

I personally would rather have the new fan speed buttons. I find that the fans default to too high a speed when I use the defrost. I am always digging into the menu to turn them down. When in regular heat or a/c mode, I just twist the temp control to reduce fan noise. I have to say that I don't like the look of the new volume knob.

Agreed. The fan speed buttons would be more useful than the volume knob. Hell, do one better and get fan speed buttons on the steering wheel.
