Maybe it's not a misprint

Just checked Honda Canada site, it still shows 2017 model year.

Don't tell me US is getting the 2018 inventory earlier than Canada, LOL!

yes just like how honda announced that the Si had a Single Mass Flywheel but has since deleted that announcement and is no where to be found now.

Looking at pictures, the 2018 Accord's 1.5T does indeed have a badge saying vtec turbo unlike the civic's badge that simply says turbo. 18 Civic hatch engine looks to have no change, haven't found a pic of sedan / coupe 18.

Cylinder Head and Valvetrain
The direct-injected 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine has a lightweight, low-pressure die-cast aluminum alloy cylinder head with exhaust manifold cast directly into the cylinder head, eliminating the need for a separate exhaust manifold. For improved fuel efficiency and responsiveness, the manifold has a "4-into-2" design; the engine's eight exhaust valves are grouped in two sets of four, each group with a separate exhaust manifold and exit port to the turbocharger cast into the cylinder head, which helps smooth exhaust flow to the turbocharger for more efficient operation and better low-rpm response.
The 1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve VTEC Turbo engine uses an advanced valve control system to combine high power output with high fuel efficiency and low emissions. The system combines intake and exhaust Variable Timing Control (dual VTC), which continuously adjusts the intake and exhaust camshaft phase, with Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC), which changes valve lift, timing and duration of the exhaust valves. In this application, the increased valve lift from VTEC operation varies to improve gas scavenging at low speed, part throttle conditions, as well as higher speed, full throttle operation, helping to improve performance across the engine speed range.

Still showing 2017 on the Honda website here in the US too, at least for the Si model and Accord model (just checked that too)-

Just checked the Honda website to build your own. Not one of the SI models has listed at iVtec Engine. Only to two lower end models of the Civic have the iVTEC Engine.

So the 2018 Si Coupe isn't on the site yet, but the 2018 Si Sedan is. That's weird. I guess the sedan will be arriving first at the dealerships, or Honda is just slow hitting the publish button on the Si Coupe webpage. :dunno:

Well at this point if someone is in the market...
  • use to your advantage that honda officially announced 2018s on their website to get a price drop on 2017s
  • purchase the car at the end of the last few days of the month to cut a better deal
  • ask about Honda Cash Back or any other incentives that they may have going on for end of the month.
  • right before you shake hands, mention the Costco discount or military discount.
  • go to the costco website and it will mention the nearest dealership that works with them. try to get an equote on costco pricing and print it out. The next dealership you go to can like and be like "yeah we work with cosco pricing". That can be a lie, but they will try to beat it. Now you have proof to save another $200 bucks if you did a really good job haggling them down already. Remember, Costco pricing isn't a guaranteed +$xxxx off. It just puts you in a different MSRP bracket. But they will definitely try to do better than the e-quote to make the sale.
  • tell them you are interested in a certain color that is not on their lot (lie), but state that you are willing to make a compromise for another because it is your second favorite. In reality, you are just bsing them and are asking for a better price for the diff color.

  • really consider their insurance for tires/rims. $7years $500 bucks. Tell them to cut you a better deal on the car. And with the money saved, tell them you will purchase the protection plan. Don't cheap out. Insurance gets them a hard-on.
  • do the same thing with all the accessories. I was able to get $845 for free. And basically money saved went toward the $1700 it cost to XPEL wrap the entire front of the car.
Do you research. Negotiate. Meet them halfway.
