We wanted to share some recent pictures with you of our 2017 Civic Si getting a brand new Clutch Masters FX250 Kit! We were playing around with some tuning solutions on the vehicle in stock form and were seeing bad slipping after minimal modifications to the stock tune. So we replaced the clutch on our shop Si with this Clutch Masters option, we had found that the OEM clutch had similar clamp load to that of a non turbo Honda clutch which is obviously going to be a problem for these engines as they're considerably more torque heavy than your conventional NA Honda engine.

Very nice. I'm surprised to see that you all went with the FX250. Most are doing 300-400. The 250 may be just fine though. If it gets the job done and is smoother, it may have been the best choice that we've all been missing out on.

We actually were talking to Clutch Masters and working with them throughout the process and with what we're doing and developing they said not to run the 300-400

Very interesting, thanks for sharing that. You've just made a dozen or so of us question our previous buying decisions. Ha

Anytime! We had noticed some chatter in first gear but once it gets up to speed it goes away. Not sure if you are noticing anything as I haven't driven any other clutch setup. We will more than likely be switching clutch manufacturers here shortly though.

Any idea what the 250 is rated to hold? I'm getting pretty close to buying a 350.

250-350 all have the same clamping force, 110% over stock.

So what's the main difference for them? Sorry I don't know too much about clutches, still in the research stage before I buy

Why not the 300 to 400 series? Because i was recommended the 400 with my setup and end goal for my build (but that's probably why).

It has to do with the actual disc itself, the 300 is going to use a segmented Kevlar disc over the 250 using an organic disc!

I would imagine our end goals might be the same, we are being very hush about a lot of the things that we are working on. I had personally recommended the 300 series to the guys here but after discussing with Clutch Masters it was advised not to run either of those two series. We'll see how it holds up in the future but like I said we will more than likely be switching to a different manufacturer in the foreseeable future :)

I got my clutch installed like 3 weeks ago, got the clutch masters fx400 OEM-DMF rigid cereamic. That's what PRL recommended because i have stage 2 tune from vitviper. still has some clutch chatter 1st and reverse gear. They said it will disappear once the clutch is broken in for 500 miles. still have 200 miles to go.

I'm really curious to know exactly what was the basis for their recommendation to avoid the 300-400 series. My guess: since its a shop car and will be on a dyno alot, the need for heat dissipation and faster engagements just wasn't there.

Also, did you have to adjust the clutch pedal after install?
