Elk Grove Honda in Elk Grove, California asked for $28,600 OTD for a 2019 Platinum White Pearl Civic Si Sedan. They said they bought it for $23,600 and could go as low as $28,000. This price included some kind of anti-theft engraving and scratch guard around the door handles and edges that was pre-installed, so no option to remove these features.

My search for a 2019 Black Civic Si Sedan in Northern California continues.

Looooool. Pass on it. That is way over priced. Their invoice price is not 23,600. The stupid engraving crap is a rip off. They are just putting the vin on places like the windows.

Also how much are your taxes? $4,300 is a high mark up. MSRP is 24,300.

What the others have said. Do not buy from that dealer or pay for their add ons. My car came with the same door guards, but the dealer didn't charge for them and they offered to sell the car (2019 PWP Si Coupe) for 23,600 with no negotiation. Walk away, find another dealer.

I appreciate the input, thanks everyone. I'll be checking out another dealership in the morning. Hopefully they'll have reasonable pricing.

7.75% sales tax here. The dealer said tax and fees is nearly $3,000, but I forget the exact number they told me.

Another dealership, Stockton Honda, asked for $28,600 after tax and fees. They offered to show me their invoice for the car after claiming it is $2,000-$3,000 below MSRP, but never actually showed it to me. I asked for $23,900 OTD, but they said I'd be stealing from them at that price. My search continues.

Does anyone who has bought a '19 Si in California care to share their experience?

Just use an auto buying program (Costco, etc)

Lol! @ "stealing from them". Tell them their price is highway robbery without even using masks with bicycles as getaway ride - its that bold and stupid.

I tried Costco once and all that happened was a dealership called me after I gave my information on the Costco website, but the dealer didn't have the vehicle in stock. I'll try it again, thanks for the tip.

You have to put in the request then go into the dealership to get the price. They will not tell you on the phone, via email, etc.

23.9k OTD might be doable in 6 months for a 2019. But there is no way you will get that right now. That would put you under their invoice which also has them pay destination.

I would shoot for 25k OTD with california taxes and fees. But most likely it will be around 25.5k OTD

How big was the price bump for the 2019’s? That will be the biggest factor in getting the car Otd for sub 25k in Cali. It was doable on the 2018’s.
