Looks nice, hopefully they drop the electronic parking brake for an old school handbrake and add some weight reduction. May have to buy one of these if Honda can deliver.
FYI, I was able to get the price down to about MSRP + $500 for the car + front spoiler + side spoiler options (that's about $1500 worth of options). So basically MSRP minus $1000, if you consider the price of options (and yeah, I realize markup on those options are very high).
I just want to point out that the "dealer invoice price" (maybe they should call it "smoke and mirrors price") is a made-up number these days and does not represent what the dealer actually paid for the car.
I didn't get my price so I didn't get the car. I could have had it for around $1K below MSRP, but $3K wasn't going to happen... decided to stick to my guns. Maybe later in the year.
I'm going to try and get an Si this weekend (NorCal) for $2K-$3K below MSRP. I do want several high-margin add-ons like the underbody spoilers, so that might help my chances. If I don't get close to $2K off then I'm going to pass for now, I'm really not in a rush to buy. I'll let you guys know...
Slower than STI, but a bit cheaper too... except I can get an STI this afternoon, and the CTR is unobtainium.
CTR is a nice car, but Honda really needs to boost production, otherwise they will lose sales to the other cars in that list. Build it Honda!!!
I watched the actual video, that guy's complaint is completely irrelevant to this thread. He's complaining because he burned through tires in 8 months, apparently due to some traction control issue on the Tesla - not familiar with this car at all, but it sounded like he had to do burnouts from...
WRX is by far the fastest, and the interior is "ok" in my opinion, but if you hate it then you hate it. GTI is second fastest and Si is the dog.
WRX and GTI are historically not very reliable compared to past Hondas, so you'd have to guess that the Si will be the car with fewer problems. Also...
It's not limited production, they will make them to meet demand. Of course, they can screw up and underestimate demand, which may mean shortages, for a while anyway.
You guys are flaming the OP, but it's a legitimate problem and there will be more people like him. The original DC2 Type-R had 15 inch wheels. Why the **** does Honda need to sell this car with 20 inch wheels?!? This isn't a bling contest, but Honda didn't seem to get the note.
They are awful and make me want to throw up all over my monitor. Google "e46 beam pattern" to see what things are supposed to look like, then compare to yours. You have major light bleed all past the cutoff and major hot spots.
You have spent money to make your car worse, and made other drivers...
Can you take a picture from farther back, to get more perspective? Also is it possible to replace the front badge, or do you have to replace a whole panel / big chunk of plastic? (I didn't check close enough how the front badge is attached).
So when I went to test drive my Si, I asked about the CTR. The guys said they are getting one (and only one) within the next few days, and the markup is $10K. They said they had several people on a waiting list, but strongly hinted if I was willing to pay $10K, it would be mine. I don't blame...
Just got back from my sedan test drive.
- Car is plenty fast for me, I normally drive a 3.0L E46 and the Si felt about the same. Really no reason for anything faster in the city.
- Exhaust / engine sound is fine for me, again probably on par with my E46. You can definitely hear it, but it's not...
Just chill folks, no reason to get angry or shell out extra $$$. Just chill for 6-12 months and I bet you'll be able to buy a Type-R for MSRP or less. The only reason dealers can get away with this crap for now is because the ITR was last released in 2001... 16 years of boiling demand. So chill...
