  1. Couple of questions on replacing brake pads

Reservoir still reads near max. I will try and bleed. Ty!
  2. Couple of questions on replacing brake pads

X-posting with my new thread. Help!! I just replaced my front brake pads, 16 Civic ext. Easy peasy. I made a mistake after I got the wheel off - I accidentally took off the wrong bolt and a couple ounces of brake fluid spilled out before I realized and put it back on. This was front driver only...
  3. Pad replacement- help!!

Hey team. I just replaced my front brake pads, 16 Civic ext. Easy peasy. I made a mistake after I got the wheel off - I accidentally took off the wrong bolt and a couple ounces of brake fluid spilled out before I realized and put it back on. This was front driver only where I made this error...
  4. Couple of questions on replacing brake pads

Hey team! My wife's '16 (bought March 2016) is getting the ol' squealies. Time for a brake job. I did this myself a few times on my 2004 Civic pretty easily. I'm not anywhere close to an expert but have done it before. I have all the tools and materials i need, except hex keys (which i may...
  5. Disable seat belt chime

I agree with the below posts - there's no reason to not buckle your seatbelt. If you feel this infringes on your freedom, you need to seriously re-evaluate your priorities in life and why you really think that way. However, in the OP's defense, I must say that I could use a seatbelt tricker...
  6. How long to start car in winter

I wouldn't warm it up at all. If you're warming it up to get rid of frost, just scrape instead. Why? Apart from wasting gas, you are wearing out your engine prematurely. Most engine wear is done when the engine isn't yet at running temperature. If you idle to get it warm, the engine warms...
  7. Does the 2017 Civic Sedan have Auto High Beams?

How would the vehicle sense that high beams were appropriate anyway? If whatever sensor the auto-highbeam uses has the same range as my wife's ACC and no farther, that'd still put cars ahead (both oncoming and not) too close for highbeams, and would blind those drivers.
  8. Cup Holder Insert

A simply fix may be to put the coffee cup or water bottle in a "cozy" (koozy?) normally used for bottles or cans of beer. Would keep your drink at temperature AND would effectively occupy more space in the cupholder, making there less rattle and shake.
  9. No oil in the engine, any damage?

Damn skippy. Set a course for public shaming, warp factor Anger. Engage!
  10. No oil in the engine, any damage?

No! Put them on social media blast and TELL them! no new engine, let alone an extended warranty? if there's "no detectable damage to the engine" what is the problem for them to offer a warranty? I know it's exhausting and frustrating to have to do all this, but don't take this!
  11. Too much Engine Braking

Cool, that makes a lot of sense. I get it, and I'm pretty dumb about most aspects of my car's operation.
  12. No oil in the engine, any damage?

I agree with this completely. They are trying to wiggle out of paying for a mistake, and it's pathetic. I'm not knowledgable enough to know what other solutions will be to this issue, but if they refuse to budge on a new engine I would notify them that I'd put them on BLAST on all social media...
  13. No oil in the engine, any damage?

Good luck with all this, and please let us know the resolution. Stay strong on the new engine. Don't take now for an answer - this is completely unacceptable.
  14. Trading Honda Civic 2016 EX w HS for Honda Civic 2017 Touring, worth it?

This doesn't seem like a good idea. The engine is more powerful, yes, but not that much more. For that much more per month, and for the lump sum dollar amount hit you will take, equity and loan-to-value wise... I'd stay where you are. But, as someone above said, you're going to do what you...
  15. Favorite products to wash/maintain your car?

I'm not too fastidious about washing and waxing, but the one product I don't do without is Meguiar's High Endurance Gel. The shine lasts for weeks. Funny story: I heard about this stuff from a coworker, so I ordered some from Amazon. Our amazon prime account is my wife's and she gets a text...
  16. 2017 Civic Hatchback vs 2017 Accord

That's a good point about the sightlines. you will have better visibility in a '17 Accord than a civic hatch. There's no telling about the '18 Accords though. I'm super curious to check those out.
  17. 2017 Civic Hatchback vs 2017 Accord

Hey bub. Welcome to the forums! Here are some thinking points for making your choice: The civic hatchback will have more total cargo space than the Accord, true. just this weekend I fit a big Shop-Vac and 16 normal 2 ft^3 mulch bags, and probably could have fit a few more in there! the way...
  18. Whistling noise

Hey OP! Quesiton: does it make the same noise when you build up RPMs to that same sport mode level but when you're in regular Drive? Does it do this only at highway speed or in other driving? Dealer may have only driven it in city driving. And, for those more knowledgeable than I - the option...
  19. deceleration fuel shut off

Agree with first reply. The car definitely does this. I have an OBD-2 reader that sends data to my phone and something I like to look at is the fuel flow screen, expressed in tenths of a gallon per hour. When coasting, the engine uses .1 gal/hr (possibly less, but I only get one decimal...
