It's so good to finally see some excitement over this car! 2.0T similar to the Type R with a 6MT?! I can't wait! I'm really curious to hear specific details about what mehanically was changed from the Type R motor, and how much work it will be to undo those changes. I'm also really curious to...
I don't mind the look of the HB at all. In fact, my sister-in-law was shopping for a Civic, and I tried to steer her towards the sport HB from a value proposition as I believe it's currently the most car per dollar out of the Civic 1.5T lineup. But she sat in both the sedan and HB, and at the...
This is not exactly true. There are plenty of posts from people on 9thgencivic who actually prefer the shifting qualities of the sorts of oil you mention (I cannot speak to prior generations before 9ths). There is some food for thought in this thread...
Every automatic trans-driving, family-moving, in-traffic-commuting work-a-day stiff that either won't learn or simply doesn't want to drive a manual. In other words, pretty much everyone in America.
No way a manual trans 2.0t Civic Si cannibalizes Accord sales. But if they ever drop an auto...
And it's not just Type R seats but any sporty seat with nice bolstering, really. I've found that any used car I've bought with such a seat has the most wear on the driver's side outer edge of the bolstering on both the seat back as well as the thigh bolstering on the seat bottom. Whenever I get...
As someone who appears to be fairly new behind the wheel, I'm sure that safety is one of the considerations most prominent in your mind. One critical aspect of safety is the ability to avoid an accident, and handling in a pre-accident scenario is crucial to avoiding what otherwise might become...
I don't understand where the commentary that making the Si a 2.0L would have resulted in a much, much higher price point is coming from. Yes there would be marginally more metal in the block/head and bottom end. And also likely a bit more metal in things like valves, valve springs, and pistons...
YMMV but many dealers have a way of creatively bending the truth to suit their business which is obviously to sell as many cars as possible. While it's possible the previously mentioned dealer may actually know already the number of cars they will receive, it seems highly unlikely to me that...
Maybe it's just my down pipe that makes me think it's too hot. When I let off the gas abruptly, I get a little pop sounding not unlike a little overrun pop in the down pipe. It doesn't do it when it's cold. Only at fully warmed operating temps.
Sorry for the thread derail. Back to the upcoming...
I wonder how hot a 1.5L turbo pushing out 210 HP would run. My 2.4L at almost 100 HP/L runs hot as hell. I'm pushing 190 degrees on a hot day and get up to 200 in stop and go traffic.
